Specifications

Although there is a more detailed list of the specifications of the GasAlertQuattro can be found on page 29 of the owner’s manual, it often times prove wise to examine a brief summary of a handful of the most common specifications. So, let's quickly take a look at some of the most important specifications of this device.

Dimensions and Weight

The overall dimensions of the instrument are approximately 13 x 8 x 14.7 centimeters. This roughly translates to 5.1 x 3.2 x 1.5 inches. This device weighs just over 11 ounces (approximately 300 grams) without the alkaline battery pack inserted. Once the pack is inside, the unit will weigh almost 12 ounces (338 grams to be exact).

Temperature and Humidity Considerations

The GasAlertQuattro is able to safely operate between a wide range of temperatures. In fact, this range lies between -20 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius (-4 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit). However, it can be stored in a slightly higher range, from -40 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius (-40 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit). The detector is designed to be stored for up to two years. Exceeding these temperatures on either end may damage the batteries, the accuracy of the unit or its overall functionality.

Finally, the detector is able to operate in nearly all variations of humidity. This range spans from 10% to 100%. The sensors should not come into direct contact with liquids, but humidity is okay.

The operating environment thresholds according to the current European performance parameters are slightly different. For an overview of these, you should once again refer to page 28 of the operations manual.

Other Important Specifications

There are some other characteristics that are summarized below for your reference. Perhaps the most important of these parameters are the detection ranges of the sensors. These ranges are:

  • H2S (Hydrogen sulfide): 0-200 parts per million
  • CO (Carbon monoxide): 0-1000 parts per million in 1 ppm increments
  • O2 (Oxygen): 0-30% by volume (.1% increments)
  • Combustibles (LEL): 0-100%LEL. (measured in 1% increments)

The battery will have a maximum operating time of 14 hours. The time it will take to fully recharge (from zero power) is approximately 6 hours. Additionally, the GasAlertQuattro comes equipped with a warranty of two years.

This device is also engineered to comply with the current laws for what is known as a Class B digital device. Essentially, this signifies that the radio frequencies generated will not cause interference with radio or television signals. Should any interference be noted, it is best to connect the equipment to a different power source or consult the dealer for further troubleshooting solutions.
